The small sea resort of Notre-Dame-de-Monts is located on the coast of Vendee at only 15 min from St Jean de Monts. Notre-Dame-de-Monts has two separate parts: the village with shops & church and the beach & seaside facilities about 1km walk from the Center. Downtown, a popular attraction is the Moulin du Vent, a traditional windmill which is visited for its gardens, at the base of the windmill.
Heading west between the town and the beach, you go across the forest. This wood is part National Wood des Pays de Monts, a quite and wide area of forest that is popular with cyclists and walkers.

- About 3 kilometers north east of Notre-Dame-de-Monts (follow the D82) there is a water tower called Kulmino where a lift and a balcony have been installed. There is a panoramic view across the region from the top 70 meters high.
