La Boissière du Doré Zoo

In the heart of Nantes wineyards ... discover the Zoo de la Boissière du Doré.

The 20 hectare zoo is home to over 800 rare & endangered animals representing species from different Regions base on geographical locations. Some belonging to species in danger of extinction such as the Asiatic lion, the clouded leopard, the gorilla, the white rhinos or the orangutan. Animal welfare is top priority.

Across the African plains from large wooden walkways & admire giraffes, zebras and antelopes freely.

Explore the Amazon rainforest ... and hang out with uncommon species: sloths, armadillos, reptiles and many others.

Enjoy breathtaking moments face felines & marvel yourself face agile primates...

The young residents of the mini-farm will surely delight your children. They can even feed them with some popcorn!! There are several playing areas, all designed for different ages which allow children to have fun & burn off some energy in a safety environment (slides, scramble nets…)

Not to miss ... the amazing bird show! An extraordinary show with more than 200 free-flying birds. Throughout the show falconers give you some explanations of their natural environment and see them evolving as raptors, but also birds that do not usually fly in representations such as storks & flamingos.

As well as getting to see animals from different angles, you’ll have the chance to learn more about them thanks to the passionate zoo experts.They are at your disposal to give you daily animal’s talks around the zoo. The feedings tour worth a visit. Discover also the nursery situated opposite the enclosure of the wolves and the amphitheater of the Birds.

Living close to some animals is now possible with the creation of a village (Lodges) above the plain of giraffes and an immersion cave near the wolves!
