The best things to do in Notre Dame de Monts
- Kulmino, the spectacular panorama: a working water tower. From the 70-metre-high panoramic room, admire a unique view of the marsh and coastline. One of the finest photo spots in the Vendée. Visiting time: 1 hour minimum.
- Biotopia: a discovery center dedicated to the world of the Coast and the Forest. Outdoor trails, interactive exhibits, guided walks and workshops on nature and biodiversity.
- Le Jardin du Vent: let yourself be carried away by the wind, come and listen to stories, discover original games and animated sculptures, learn how to make a kite. Visits are free, activities are chargeable. Visit: approx. 2 hours.
- Ecomusée du Daviaud: discover the traditional life of market gardeners and the ecosystem of the Vendée marshes on a 6-hectare trail in the heart of a preserved natural area. Demonstrations, exhibitions and workshops enhance the visitor experience. Allow 3 hours for a complete visit

Notre Dame de Monts beach
The central beach of Notre-Dame-de-Monts, in the resort’s town center, is a popular spot for summer visitors. Located at the end of Avenue de la Mer, the pedestrian walkway linking the town center to the ocean, this beach offers direct, convenient access for all. Its fine sand and gentle slope make it an ideal choice for children. In summer, the beach is supervised and equipped for people with reduced mobility.
Water sports
In the land of the wind, sand yachting is king: the immense expanse of fine sand lends itself to the practice of this speed and open-air sport. Price: €40 per session (1h30). Notre-Dame-de-Monts is also the place to be for water sports.
The nautical center offers surfing, catamaran, windsurfing and paddle courses, as well as the Jardin des Mers for children in summer. A free activity open to all? At low tide, you can fish for mussels and clams on the rocky promontory of Pont d’Yeu.
Walking and hiking
The trail from the dune to the marsh: an easy walk for families, in the communes of Notre-Dame-de-Monts and Saint Jean de Monts. To see along the way: the beach and the mythical Pont d’Yeu, the dune belt, the national forest and the Marais Breton Vendéen.
